An animation to tell MPs about the issues and potential of community pharmacy is now available to share.
The short video, developed by Community Pharmacy England, has been designed as an introduction to the community pharmacy sector, communicating our key messages to MPs in a concise and engaging way.
Released to coincide with MPs’ return to Parliament after their summer recess, this resource aims to help educate and inform politicians about the indispensable role of community pharmacies and their current challenges. MPs are left with a request to help protect the community pharmacies in their constituencies to ensure the sector’s sustainability and continued contribution to the nation’s health.

The new MP animation may be useful for pharmacy owners and LPCs to share with local MPs as part of ongoing engagement with them. It could also be used to encourage MPs to attend Community Pharmacy England’s Parliamentary drop-in event on Tuesday 10th September.
Parliamentary drop-in: 10th September
Community Pharmacy England will shortly host a Parliamentary drop-in event for MPs. Taking place on 10th September, this will be an opportunity for new MPs to learn the basics about the sector, including the unsustainable pressures community pharmacies face. Members of Community Pharmacy England’s Committee and policy team will be in attendance, as well as representatives from patient groups.
We would be very grateful if pharmacy owners and LPCs could help encourage their local MPs to attend the Parliamentary drop-in, either as an action following a pharmacy visit or via a separate email. To help with this, please feel free to make use of the resources below.
