Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has issued a medicine supply notification for Nifedipine (Adipine® XL) 30mg and 60mg modified-release tablets.

- Nifedipine (Adipine® XL) 30mg and 60mg modified-release tablets are out of stock until the end of January 2026.
- Alternative brands of nifedipine 30mg and 60mg modified-release tablets remain available, but only some can support increased demand, including Adanif® XL 30mg and 60mg modified-release tablets and Neozipine® XL 30mg modified-release tablets.
- Nifedipine (Coracten® XL) 30mg and 60mg modified-release capsules remain available and can support increased demand.
- Serious Shortage Protocols (SSP) for Adipine® XL 30mg and 60mg tablets were issued on 19/12/2025.
A copy of this medicine supply notification, including supporting information, has been sent to all pharmacy NHS email addresses.
DHSC and NHS England have launched an online Medicines Supply Tool, which provides up-to-date information about medicine supply issues. The contents of these MSNs can now be viewed on the Tool.
The Tool also details any changes to resupply dates and updates to the entries.
