NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has identified a small number of pharmacies that are declaring consistently and significantly above their actual number of prescription items dispensed each month when submitting their FP34C declaration via the Manage Your Service (MYS) portal.
Given the Government’s obligations for Managing Public Money, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has decided that pharmacy owners who persistently over-declare their prescription item figures via MYS will no longer receive an advance payment based on their FP34C declaration – instead the advance payment will be calculated using the actual number of EPS claims received by the NHSBSA.
This change will be reflected in the November Drug Tariff, and any affected pharmacies will see changes to their advance payments from November (i.e. for the dispensing month of October and monthly thereafter). Affected contractors will receive an email from the NHSBSA informing them of the change to their advance payment. calculation. Pharmacies are reminded to count and declare their item figures correctly each month. See link to Briefing 008/16: EPS factsheet – Reconcile EPS prescription figures – Community Pharmacy England.
