Pharmacy teams are invited to participate in an interview and focus group discussions to explore current practice in community pharmacy regarding the management of individuals who present with bladder and/or bowel incontinence. The opportunity follows a survey conducted earlier this year to gather opinions.
Approximately 1 in 5 people experience bladder or bowel leakage and they often do not know that simple conservative strategies can make a difference.
A team from the University of the West of England are conducting the study to:
understand the views on the Pharmacy Role In proMotion of continencE (PRIME);
learn from current experiences; and
explore what is feasible to develop, for improved bladder and bowel continence promotion.
Interviews and focus groups will be carried out with stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and the public, to establish more detailed views on this new initiative and how it might work.
